Robert & Ted Kennedy Dual Signed PSA U.S. Senate Restaurant Menu Dated 10 Months Before RFK Assassination

A 2pp menu from the "United States Senate Restaurant" signed by the two surviving Kennedy brothers, both U.S. Senators: Robert F. Kennedy (1925-1968), then U.S. Senator from New York, as "Robert Kennedy" at lower left; and Edward M. Kennedy (1932-2009), then U.S. Senator from Massachusetts, as "Ted Kennedy" above Robert's signature at center. [Washington, D.C.] The Luncheon du Jour options found on p. 2 list a date of August 11, 1967, just ten months before RFK's assassination. The pale blue front cover shows an illustration of the U.S. Capitol Building while the back cover advertises the Senate Restaurant's historic Michigan Navy bean soup. Expected wear including even light toning and isolated edge darkening. Ted Kennedy's signature is slightly faded. Else near pristine. 8.375" x 10.625." Accompanied by a PSA/DNA Letter of Authenticity.

Menu options included items from the Cold Buffet, Sandwiches, Salads, Fruits, Cheese With Saltines, Appetizers and Soups, Today's Entrees, From Our Grill, Desserts, and Beverages ranging in cost from 10 cents to $4. Now-obsolete drink options included Teem, a lemon-lime soft drink, and Metracal, a powdered diet drink.

The Senate tenures of the Kennedy brothers overlapped for just three years, between 1965-1968. While Ted Kennedy had served in the U.S. Senate since 1962, Robert Kennedy had only been elected in 1965 after finishing his term as U.S. Attorney General. Robert Kennedy would be assassinated just ten months later, on June 6, 1968, during his ill-fated presidential campaign. Edward Kennedy would represent his constituents continuously until his death in 2009.
