Last Living "Titanic" Survivor Millvina Dean 2 Signed Photos
Signed photographs
Two photographs signed by Millvina Dean (1912-2009), the youngest passenger aboard the "R.M.S. Titanic" on its only and maiden voyage in April 1912, and the last living survivor of the shipwreck, both times as "Millvina Dean." N.d., n.p. The two photographs are high-quality reproductions of archival photographs printed on Fujifilm photo paper. The first one shows newsboy Ned Parfett standing outside White Star Line Offices on April 16, 1912 holding a billboard reading "Titanic Disaster / Great Loss of Life"; while the second one shows part of the front cover of the April 16, 1912 issue of the London-based "The Daily Mirror," with the headline: "Disaster to the Titanic: World's Largest Ship Collides With An / Iceberg In the Atlantic During Her Maiden Voyage." Dean has signed the first photograph outside the image in the bottom margin, and has signed the second photograph in the image at lower left. Near fine. 8" x 10." Ex-Signature House (Upland, California). Ex-Collection of Steve Forbes.

Millvina Dean (born Eliza Dean) was only nine weeks old when she, her older brother, and her parents boarded the "Titanic" as third-class passengers in Southampton, England on April 10, 1912. During the sinking on April 14-April 15, 1912, Dean, her brother, and her mother escaped the liner by boarding Lifeboat 10, but Millvina's father, 26-year-old Bertram Dean, perished. Millvina Dean and her brother became increasingly involved in various "Titanic" commemorations as they aged. Dean was the oldest living "Titanic" survivor; she died in May 2009 at the age of 97.
